Hedging my bets........

Morning everyone, hope the sun is shining wherever you are......it's a fantastic day here in Wiltshire.
My lovely sis-in-law Ros, is staying with us and Nick, Emma and Eva are coming over for a Sunday roast, so we're in for a great day.
Well, I'm hedging my bets at the mo, 'cos 2 lots of Nick & Em's old Uni pals are awaiting the arrival of first babies any time now. Thought I'd make a couple of simple cards whilst I had time......Might get to use them both, if the right babies appear, if not, I'll just have to do a 'quick-make'!
I saw a similar idea somewhere on the internet. Not sure if it was Pinterest or a blog, so sorry that I can't link back.

The white linen cardstock is from
(of course!)
The gorgeous flowers are from
(so pretty)

The patterned papers are from my stash.

All the dies are from
Spellbinder

Hope you like these little cards.....please leave a comment if you've enjoyed visiting.
Catch you all tomorrow.

Hello again to my Pan Pastels!

Evening all, hope you had a good day, and managed to fit a sneaky bit of crafting in......
I managed to get 5 cards done by about 3 pm, so very pleased about that. Then my gorgeous daughter-in-law, Emma came over for tea with baby Eva.  Everything is put on hold for Eva, but I'd much rather be cuddling her, that crafting ;-)

Anyway, just a short post tonight to show a couple of todays makes, both very similar but slightly different backgrounds.
I've kept these very, very simple, without even a sentiment, I really don't think they need anything else....what do you think??

Both backgrounds made with Pan Pastels, stamps from Lavinia Stamps and Stamp-it. I've matted onto black then white linen cardstock from
(Watch out for a special offer coming from Papermill in a day or so!)

Well, that's it for tonight folks....I'll be back on Thursday with details of the Papermill special offer.
Bye for now,
Barbara

What a great weekend.........

Evening everyone, and welcome back to my little piece of blogland....
A big hello to my new followers.
Hope you've all had a great weekend......mine has been fabulous!  I met up with loads of crafty friends in London and Kent......Janet Lofthouse, Elaine Maisey, Eileen Godwin and Zoe Russell, and had a fab day at Eileen's workshop with all the other lovely crafters. It was such good fun, and we laughed a lot!
The card I'm showing tonight is one I made yesterday at the workshop.

I've used Pan Pastels on White Linen by
Papermill .....see how lovely it is close-up, just like canvas.

The Pan Pastels blend so well on the linen cardstock.
I've used Sheena Douglas stamps for the flowers.

I love these colours, and I'm quite pleased with the card itself....
Hope you like it.

Happy birthday Alan......

Hello again everyone, thanks for calling in....hope you've had a great weekend, despite the weather.
It's my lovely man Alan's birthday today and we've had a fabby day with all the family here, including baby Eva......she is 4 weeks old tomorrow, can't believe where those weeks have gone! Life is so very busy at the moment.....
Anyway, I won't ramble on, just want to show you the cards I did for Alan.

Alan certainly fills my life with colour, and more importantly, laughter!

Scraps of inky card...I never throw my inky bits away .

All cardstock is from Papermill Direct
The base card is 'hammered' white.

This card is from Finn to Alan ....the background is Pan Pastels.

My chocolate strawberries always come out on special occasions ;-)

Mmmmmmmmmm, they were scrummy!

Our gorgeous little Eva, she's even more scrummy than the choccie strawberries.
When they arrived, Eva was dressed beautifully, then alas she embarassed herself and had to be changed into a babygro. She looks lovely in anything though, I could squeeze her to bits!

Well, that's all for tonight, sorry it's been a long post....catch you all in a couple of days xx

Happy Birthday Dave......

Good evening to all my followers, new & long-standing....thanks for popping in tonight.
I'd like to show you a card made for Emma's dad, Dave....he's 60 today and definitely wasn't looking forward to it....We have this bit of misery going on between us 'cos it's my turn in August, and neither of us want to be 60! haha
I made a card that didn't have a huge 60 on the front, as I think he probably had lots of these.......

Kraft, black and cream 'linen'  cardstock all from

The 'wire' stamp is from Inkylicious, the wine set & scrolls are by Creative Expressions and the grunge corners are from LOTV

Central image cut with a Spellbinder label die.
Gorgeous 'fine detail' gold embossing powder from

Computer generated sentiment.

The inside!
I coloured the image with Adirondack ink and promarkers.
Well, I sincerely hope Dave has had a fab day, with all the family, on holiday.....no doubt we'll go out next week to celebrate his 'milestone' birthday......and (not) look forward to mine!

A Cheeky Little Card.....

Evening all, hope you've had a great Tuesday. It's been very hot in Wiltshire today, but I've still managed to get loads done....washing, ironing, gardening and I've made 2 cards and a tag. So, I'm feeling pretty happy with myself tonight ;-)
Anyway, this card is for the same customer as yesterdays post.......her daughter is 40 on Saturday, and to celebrate, she's doing the 'Moon Walk'. I thought the bra card would be perfect, 'cos I think they walk wearing their bra on show..... I've had the templates forever, but this is the first time I've used them.

I love animal print, and I used to have a bra similar to this.....That bloomin' fluff irritated me to bits!

This is the  reverse of the card, a sexy little thong! (haha)

The 'jewels' were part of an old necklace.
Well, that's it for tonight everyone, hope you like my fluffy little number!
Would love you to leave a comment if you've enjoyed looking.
( The customer loved the cards by the way )

Happy Sunny Day........

Hi everyone, just popped in with a quick post for today, as we're going to have a ride out in the 'cabbie' (my gorgeous 'Summer' car ) it's such a fab day here in Wiltshire.
The card I'm showing today was an urgent order for a really good customer, and happy customers mean more orders, and dosh, of course ;-) so I didn't mind being in my craft room on Bank Holiday Sunday.

The 'white linen' and lilac cardstock is from
Look out for lots of new offers from Papermill coming soon

The charm is one of a batch I bought in Italy last year..... I'll be sad when they've all gone

I've used & blogged this design a few times, but still think it's a classy, elegant look, and seem to come back to it time after time, when I'm stuck for ideas.

Hope you like it enough to leave a comment, I appreciate them all.
Catch you tomorrow with a 'fun' card, made for the same customer as this one.
Enjoy the rest of your Bank Holiday

Morning everyone, and a warm welcome to my new followers..Hope you're all enjoying some Spring weather wherever you are.
I'd like to thank you all for the wonderful messages and good wishes for our gorgeous little Eva, on my last post.  I was overwhelmed by the amount of followers who spared time to leave a comment and really appreciate them all xx
Anyway, today I'm showing you my design team card for the 3rd Lavinia Stamps Challenge....the theme this month is
PASTEL COLOURS
Please pop over to Lavinia Stamp challenge blog and checkout the prize.....it's a gigantic £40!
I've chosen to use the

White Linen, pink and brown cardstock, all from
( as you know, I never use anything else )

I made the embossed background on a scoring board.

The sentiment is a wood-mounted stamp, but I can't remember where it came from, sorry.
I've inked with TH distress ink, worn lipstick.

I really do like making simple cards, with lots of white on them....in saying that, I also love getting messy and inky and filling the page with colour, so best of both worlds, I suppose ;)
Please pop over and see the rest of the design team creations, they're fab!
Catch you all soon.

Baby Eva is Here!.......

Good morning everyone, and welcome back to my blog after almost 3 weeks......can't believe I haven't had time to blog for so long, but life has been very, very busy here.

Thank you Nick and Emma xxxx

 Eva Louise
( Isn't she just fabulous ? )

Today I'm showing a card made in celebration of our lovely little grandaughter, hope you like it....
It's part of a blog hop from Crafting Cafe with the theme of CELEBRATION.....more details below.

All cardstock is from Papermill

This is a Lili of the Valley stamp,
one of my favourite baby images.

The image tag is from Sizzix, the butterflies are from Marianne & Cheery Lynn, and all the rest are Spellbinders.

Loads of lace and feathers and liquid pearls.....Oh and it's an easel card, in case you hadn't noticed.....should have taken a side view but I forgot, sorry.

Bloomin' Heck, Flowers Again!

Evening all, hope you've had a good day so far.....welcome to my new followers, hope you can pop in regularly.
'Our' baby was due today, but so far she is showing no signs of wanting to appear.....I've seen Emma this afternoon and she looked so well.....I'll keep you all updated though, as and when.
The cards I'm showing tonight were made with the new stamps from Sheena Douglas....

All cardstock is from

All the flowers and leaves are made with white 'linen' cardstock which has been inked with Dylusions and Cosmic Shimmer Mists.

This background is cream 'linen' cardstock and again the flowers & leaves are coloured with Dylusions, and spray inks from

I don't actually like cutting out, I prefer die-cutting. However I did cut the flowers & leaves out and ended up with numb finger ends for almost a week! Good excuse to get back to die-cutting ;-)
Please let me know what you think....catch you all in a day or so,
be good!

As Promised....Ros's 70th Birthday Card.

Evening everyone, hope you're having a fab weekend......the weather has been gorgeous here today, warm enough to be in the garden without 5 layers of clothing on!
The card I'm showing tonight is one I made for my lovely sister-in-law, Ros's 70th birthday yesterday.
Because I am the youngest of 3 children, my eldest brother Colin  is 15 years older than me...... so, when he started going out with Ros, I was only 7! which means Ros has been part of our family for 53 years, and is my 'sister' in all but blood......
I LOVE her to bits!
In all this time, we've never has a crossed word, and although we don't see each other as often as I'd like, (them being in Darlington and us in Wiltshire) we talk almost every other day on the phone and make the most of it when we do get together, 3 or 4 times a year.
So onto the card.......

All the cardstock is from PAPERMILL, it's the only card I ever use.
White linen, pink, and 2 shades of green.

The die is from Marianne,
with a computer generated sentiment.
and a daisy embossing folder.

The card is a 9" square, made with 2 sheets of A4 joined together. The corners are from a lattice die set by Spellbinders.
I've added some 'liquid pearl' dots to finish.

I do hope you like this card..... I know Ros did, as we spoke yesterday from Spain where they're holidaying.
I'll be back in a couple of days with a new technique that I've been trying.
Enjoy the rest of the weekend.
By the way, still no sign of our new baby ;(
