Bee Crafty - Saturday Inspiration

Hi everyone....a very quick post from me today as I have a date with a bucket of hot water and a wallpaper scraper!
This has been such a busy week....decorator in, plumber, drive specialists, and.........grand-kids making a mess everywhere. (although this was the only mess I didn't mind)....
Anyway, enough waffle, the card I'm showing today is one of my samples from last weeks Hochanda show with BEE CRAFTY
I wanted this card to be simple but effective.
I just laid 2 colours of Adirondack ink in a watery mess, and allowed it to dry. Next I stamped the feather, and ink pot  from the 'Art Stamps', Ledger, Nibs & Ink (HERE) in Versamark, then heat embossed in copper powder. The sentiment is from the 'Hope & Faith Infinity set (HERE)
I splashed a few drops of ink onto the white background, then matted & layered onto brown and gold card stock.
Well, that's it for now, hope you all have a fab bank holiday weekend,
catch you next week

Bee Crafty Stamps....As Seen On Hochanda.

Hi there, happy weekend!
Well, after all the excitement yesterday of the Hochanda shows with Bev, from Bee Crafty, it's back to another weekend inspiration post from me.
The card I'm showing is one of my DT samples which was on the show yesterday. (if you missed the shows, you can still watch on Hochanda 'catch-up)
I found a piece of background in my 'inky box, made with Brusho's, and thought it would be perfect for a ( VERY ) simple card. After cutting it in half, I stamped the sentiment between the two pieces.
I used the 'quill' from the Art Set Ledger, Nibs & Ink ( HERE )
The quill was stamped onto black card with Versamark ink and heat-embossed with white embossing powder, then 'fussy cut'.... all I had to do was adhere it to the inky background and add some twine and a button.
So you see, a very simple card, but quite effective, don't you think?
I'll be showing some of my other DT samples from the show on the Bee Crafty Facebook page, over the next few days.
Catch you all soon,

DT Inspiration for Bee Crafty....

Morning everyone, back again with my DT cards for BEE CRAFTY
I've been really busy this week making new samples for the Bee Crafty shows on Hochanda on Thursday....so today, for quickness, I'm showing a couple more cards that I made last week.
On these two cards I've used the 'Easy Frame - Heart' (HERE
and three colours of Adirondack ink.
I'm loving using these Inkables at the moment, so very versatile.
I also used one of the words from the sentiment 'Live Laugh Dream' from the Wordage collection - (HERE)
When my stamps come from Bev @ Bee Crafty, I always look at them to see which ones I can chop up. With the above sentiment stamp, I've cut out the word 'Love' and used it by itself as a background filler.
Everything was mounted onto black card then a white base, and I added a couple of die-cut sentiments to finish.
I'm off on holiday tomorrow for a week in Pembrokeshire....I've already packed all of my crafty stuff, so if the weather is bad, guess what I'll be doing?!
Catch you soon,

Saturday 'Brightness' for Bee Crafty.....

Hi everyone....well, here we are again, another Saturday post and you might need sunglasses today....'cos these cards are very bright!
It's my Chippenham Workshop today, then we're flying off to Dublin tonight for a few days, so I'm just doing a quick blog this week....hope you don't mind.
When I saw Bev Tonks of Bee Crafty at Ally Pally, I grabbed a few of the Inkables,  HERE
and this week I've been having a play with them......honestly folks, if you haven't already got these in your stash, you seriously need them, they're brilliant. I have lots of stencils and masks, but to have the negative AND the positive, makes them so much more interesting to use.
 ALL CARDSTOCK IS FROM PAPERMILLDIRECT.
I used Adirodack inks on all 3 cards, and small die-cut sentiments.
This one features the 'Easy Frame - Maple',  Cow Parsley & Large Branch stamps from the BEAUtanicals range.
On this one I used the same inks, with 'Easy Frame - Star', Da Vinci Script & Wings from the Da Vinci  range.
This last card features the 'Easy Frame - Maple' with Ground Elder & Da Vinci Script. I've added some 'Stickles' in Cranberry,  to the Ground Elder......Stickles are on offer at the moment - HERE
Well, that's all for this week,
I'll be back next week with another couple of similar cards, as once I started on the Inkables, I couldn't stop ;-)
In the meantime, I'll have some Lavinia DT cards to show you in a day or so....
Take care,
Barbara x

Some late Saturday DT Inspiration for Bee Crafty....

Hi everyone.....I'm very late today with my Saturday Inspiration for
I didn't get started crafting this week until Thursday, after a really horrible tummy bug, last weekend, and it seems I've been chasing my tail ever since.....
Anyway, I've made 2 completely different cards this time.....must admit, not sure if I like any of them, but thought I'd show you anyway.
For the first card, I only used red and black ink with the 'Splash Art Guitar Set'
I stamped the guitar twice, fussy-cut then covered it with Glossy Accents.
The second card only uses the very pretty 'Inkables' template, DAMASK.....  I inked through the template with Adirondack inks, spread it with clear texture paste, then covered the paste with micro beads. Once the texture paste dries, the inks really show through the glass beads.....I love the effect.
Just a simple card, but I like 'simple' now and then ......
Well, that's it for this week, catch you all soon....happy bank holiday weekend.

New Stamps from Bee Crafty.....Saturday Inspiration

Morning everyone...... wow, don't these Saturday's come around quickly??
Today I want to show you a card made with brand new stamps, from
BEE CRAFTY
which were on Hochanda this week.
I certainly LOVE them all, and couldn't decide which to use first, but the
Splash Art Guitar Set won....find it HERE
This was a simple card.....!!
I stamped the images from the Guitar set, in black Versafine then heat-embossed with clear embossing powder. I stamped the guitar again,  fussy-cut it out and mounted it on top of the main image.
The background was made with distress inks and finger daubers.
A bit of matting and layering and I was done.......
White Linen and black smooth cardstock is from PAPERMILLDIRECT

I made a couple of others, which I'll show tomorrow....in the meantime, have a great weekend and don't forget to pop over to BEE CRAFTY to checkout the new stamps.

A Little Canvas for Bee Crafty......

Morning everyone, Saturday again, and that means it's my turn for the inspirational blog at
BEE CRAFTY
This week I fancied doing something a bit different than a card so decided to make a little canvas for my new craft room.
I chose a set of stamps that don't often 'get an airing' on the blog.....
Fabulous for 'new home' cards too, which is really the reason I bought them.
First I covered a small canvas with Dylusions paint,  inked through a couple of stencils, then stamped a few images (stamps used listed below)
Next I stamped the houses again on contrasting inked card, and fussy-cut them out.
Once these were adhered to the canvas, I simply added a bit of interest with a white pen.......
Voila! done ....
I used a small piece of voile for a hanger.
This certainly looks bright, hanging in my craft room, and I LOVE the sentiment ;-)
Stamps used are :-
Da Vinci Script
Stencils used are :-
Well, that's all for this week, but don't forget Bev is back on Hochanda on Tuesday with some amazing new stamps....can't wait to get my hands on them!!
Catch you all soon,
Barbara xx
Please leave a comment if you've enjoyed looking, I appreciate them all x

Lavinia Stamps New Challenge

Hi everyone.....just a quick post tonight from me to let you all know about the brand new monthly challenge from
Pop over to the Lavinia Stamps Facebook page to enter your creation....it's sooooooo easy!
The prize is a whopping £40 to spend on Lavinia products, and I can definitely recommend the new stamps, they're fab.

Linen textured card and Pan Pastels.

Dancing with Dawn.
Fairy Buttercups
Vine
Cherry Blossom Tree

This card is for our gorgeous little Eva's 3rd birthday on Friday....she loves fairies.

This was just one stamp,
the Background Script...really love the design of this.

I used a tiny sentiment die from Penny Black for the sentiment.

For this little card, I just used a selection of the very small stamps from Lavinia, and different coloured Distress Inks

I think the 'masked off' corners are quite effective

Well that's it for now..... hope you get the chance to join the challenge this month.
Back soon,
Barbara.

Saturday Inspiration for Bee Crafty........

Morning everyone....excited today as I'm off to Ally Pally with my lovely friend Jean and her 'just as lovely' daughter.
Will certainly be calling to say hello to Bev at the BEE CRAFTY stand. .....might treat myself to a few things too (who am I kidding....I have a list as long as my arm!)
Anyway, on to my Saturday inspiration.
ALL CARDSTOCK IS FROM PAPERMILLDIRECT
I chose to use the pretty butterfly this week from 'Winged Things' - butterflies set 1 -  and stamped many times on a piece of inked card. (Adirondack inks, Pool, Sunshine Yellow and Citrus) I used the masking technique, so as not to over-stamp.
I mounted the sentiment onto black cardstock and added an extra butterfly, coloured with Sakura pens and Promarkers. Some white highlighting, a bit of matting and layering and I was finished.
Hope you like it enough to leave a comment, they are always appreciated.

DT sample for Bee Crafty......

Morning everyone, Saturday already.....and today I host my monthly workshop in Chippenaham. Guess which stamps we'll be using this month? BEE CRAFTY ...yeah!!
However today I'm showing a card which is totally different from what I normally do.
I had a piece of painted cardstock in my 'scrappy' box, so decided to chop out a few holes....
I printed the sentiment onto a scrap of card, cut it into pieces and used the
Backdrops Frames ~ Style Wire Circle Sm/Med.
Still not sure if I like it, so much out of my comfort zone.....
Let me know what you think, please.
Catch you all soon,
Barbara xx

BEE CRAFTY on Hochanda....DT inspiration

Morning everyone and Happy Easter to you all.
Well it's that time again, for Bev, of BEE CRAFTY STAMPS to appear on Hochanda to debut the new stamps....FOUR sets, inspired by the artist, Banksy
Fabulous stamps and they all work so well together......
This little tag was made using the 'Love Isn't Complicated' set.
I've inked a tag with Adirondack inks then made a watercolour wash with a spritzer.
Next I used the brick wall and leaf stencils to give more interest to the background then stamped the boy & girl and sentiment from the set. Normally I'd heat-emboss the images, but this time I just stamped with Versafine in Onyx Black.
The cardstock I've used is from PAPERMILLDIRECT
A few gems around the edges, a bit of raffia and it was done....nothing too complicated....just like LOVE! ;-)

Hope you like it enough to leave a comment, I appreciate them all......and don't forget Bev is on TV 3 times today at 11am, 2pm and 5pm...if you can't watch it, set your recorders.
Catch you all soon,
Barbara xx

Ground Elder again for Bee Crafty.....Barbara DT

Morning all, Barbara here with another Saturday blog for BEE CRAFTY
This week I've used the 'ground elder' again......just because I love it!

First I stamped in Versamark and embossed with clear embossing powder to do a 'resist' technique....Then I used some bright colours of Adirondack inks as a water-colour wash.
I chopped out out a few circles to make the base card, then matted the coloured piece to a black background to show off the colours.
A small sentiment,  a few sequins and voila! ....done.

Hope you like it enough to leave a comment, they are always much appreciated.
Bev Tonks is back on Hochanda on Easter Saturday with FOUR brand new sets of stamps (all Banksy inspired)  I've just finished my samples for the show, so hope you will tune in to see them.
Catch you soon,

Spring Flowers for a 'Bee Crafty' Spring Saturday.......

Hi everyone, Saturday again, and what a beautiful morning it is here....hope you all manage to see some lovely sunshine this weekend, Summer is on it's way....yay!!
This week, for my BEE CRAFTY DT card, I've used the gorgeous stamp called 'Star Flowers' from the Fabulous Flowers set.....this is the first time I've used this particular stamp, but it's so pretty, I'll certainly be doing more with it.
Firstly I covered a piece of linen cardstock with Pan Pastel chalks in yellow & red, then I stamped the 'Star Flowers' twice in Versafine 'vintage sepia'. On a separate piece of chalked card, I stamped again, and cut-out a few of the flowers.
I stamped the sentiment also from BEE CRAFTY (love this one) and layered up the flowers. I ran around the edges of the flowers with gold wax, but it looks white on the pic, sorry ........I added a butterfly from the 'Butterflies Set 1' and matted onto black cardstock and a white card base. A few dots of 'Stickles' on the flower centres and 'voila, done'!
Well that's it for this week, hope you like my card enough to leave a comment, they are much appreciated.
Happy weekend,
Barbara xx

Inspired by Banksy at Bee Crafty.....

Morning everyone, and happy weekend!
I'm a bit sad as Alan has just left for Heathrow, en route to Singapore for work.....it's gonna be a long week :-( but I have plenty of work & crafting to be getting on with, so hopefully I won't get too bored.. haha....as if!
Anyway a quick post to show my weekly DT work for

I inked the background with a few different shades of Tim Holtz distress ink....Scattered Straw, Ripe Persimmon, Fired Brick.
I then used the 'Inkables' templates,  Chainlink, Brick Wall with Hole and Honeycombe 3, and inked through with Fired Brick and Frayed Burlap (all inks and templates available from Bee Crafty)

I stamped around the edges with part of the Splatter Swirl and the bottom edge of the Greatness Words.  The words were stamped again on a spare piece of inked card and cut out.
Lastly I stamped Ghetto Blaster from the Inspired by Banksy range, with Versamark ink and embossed with black embossing powder.
So that's it, job done, hope you like it!
Hope it inspires you to pop over to the Bee Crafty website. There are some fabulous products on there, and Bev will be back on HOCHANDA  with fabby new stamps on 29th February.
Don't miss it!

Bee Crafty Stamps and Pan Pastels........

Morning everyone, back again with another DT project for BEE CRAFTY
This week I've made a few tags with the BEAUtanicals range.....(love these)
Bev, from Bee Crafty will be back on Hochanda on Feb 29th, so make sure you get this date in your diary ;-) Brand new stamps....can't wait!
Anyway, here are the tags I've made.....

Pan pastels on linen card stock gives a lovely textured effect.
Stamps used, Cow Parsley, Poppy Heads, Dandelion, and Wordage.....

I've used Branches, Poppy Heads, Da Vinci Script, and 'Greatness' wordage stamps here.

Cow Parsley, and stamps from the 'Wordage' collection on here. Loving the way I can use only a couple of words from any one stamp, if needed....... means they are so much more versatile.

Hope you like the finished tags......they will be going up on the wall in my new craft room, over the next few days.....it's almost finished, yeah!!!
Catch you soon, Barbara x

First Post for Bee Crafty.....

Hi folks, back today with my very first blog post for Bee Crafty....I joined the Bee Crafty DT this week, and I'm really looking forward to using their fab stamps and products.
For this first blog I've used the very popular 'Bokeh' technique....it's been around for quite a while, but this is the first time I've used it.

ALL cardstock is from

ALL other products from

Ink your chosen colours onto smooth cardstock, then  apply white ink through a stencil.
I've used an 'Inkables' stencil from
BEE CRAFTY.

Chop out the centre of your inked piece of card, add your chosen sentiment then mat onto black cardstock.

Mount onto a black card base and add a die-cut or embellishment.

The black card, is an alternative way of using this technique.

Catch you all soon,
Barbara xx
