Hi everyone, from a still snowy Wiltshire....... I expect by now you've all experienced some snow no matter where you are....Just the perfect day to craft.
I'm a bit sad today as it's 2 years since we lost our beloved GSD, Max. He was an amazing dog, suffered quite a lot with various problems, (which were kept at bay of course, with meds) but never changed his wonderful temperament towards us. This is Max below when he was 2, same age as Finn is now, coincidentally....wasn't he just so handsome?
We still miss him and think of him every day, we loved him so much......happy AND sad memories.
He was 12 when he died and I like to think he enjoyed his long life with us, we certainly enjoyed having him....
My card today was inspired a little by Max, because he was a lovely old friend.
I have used the negative part of the die-cut this time, instead of just popping the die-cut on top. It was quite tricky at first, especially lining up the bits which were unattached, but I do like the effect. The sentiment is from Visible Image.
White and black cardstock from Papermill
Somehow, my beautiful flourish die has been 'creased', resulting in a little mark on the design (bottom right-hand corner).....*note to self * 'take more care of dies'!
3 simple pearls to finish....didn't think it needed anything else.
Hope you like today's card.....
Catch you all soon, stay safe and warm
xx

It's a lovely cas card Barbara and a fine dog. We lost our beloved Tessa almost 10 years ago and she was 18. German Shepherd cross she looked like a miniature one. She had a wonderful kind nature and even saved the cats life. It's wonderful to have such good memories xx Jan

ReplyDeleteSuperb card Barbara, so elegant and classy! And such a handsome boy! It is as painful losing a beloved pet as it is losing a family member! Xx
ReplyDeleteI would never notice the crease in the die and your card is so elegant. Sorry about the loss of your dog, I know my cats are my children and I would be devastated if something happened to them. Thanks for playing along at Kraftin Kimmies!
ReplyDeleteAww, such a handsome fella! Beautiful card - so elegant & I love the sentiment. It was exactly the fact that your pets become so beloved and the loss is too painful that stopped us getting another dog for a long time. However, we found we missed the companionship of a dog more and now have our gorgeous 2 yr old black lab, Murphy. Hugs, Helen xx
ReplyDeleteI must say your Max was so handsome!(and I'm not a dog lover!)no mistake!!
ReplyDeleteYour card is very elegant - I love how you have used the negative. I rarely think to save these bits when cutting dies. But where would I put everything!!!
xx

ReplyDeleteHello Barbara, your card is elegant with the wonderful quote. Your Max was a handsome boy and I know what it's like when your beloved pet(s) leave you. They leave a void along with happy memories. One of our sweetest cats who we lost to cancer 7 years ago was also named Max and I still think about him. Our two that we have now keep us company. Enjoy your snow, Shirleyx
