Bee Crafty Saturday.......

Hi everyone, another quick post today, as we're heading off for a few days and I still have tons to do.....Just wanted to show you a couple of Christmas cards made for the recent BEE CRAFTY show on Hochanda.
All cardstock is from Papermilldirect, except the gold Mirri card.
This was was created with the circle 'Inkables' and the small stamp from the new Yuletide set - Holly Swirl Tree & Borders. I used a Kaleidacolor inkpad so the leaves would be varigated. The sentiment is from the Yuletide Wordage set
I wanted this one to be elegant.....so kept to black and gold. Same set of stamps, but I heat-embossed the image and sentiment. I didn't add any embellishments as I don't think it needed anything.
Hope you like them.....lots more to come over the next few days.
Would love to read some comments if you have time to leave one.
Happy weekend,
Barbara.

I water-coloured the background with Distress inks then used the following stamps,
Inspired by Banksy - Hope - (small)
Backdrop borders - Distressed Stars
Wordage - Definition Girl
The topper was matted onto black, then onto a white linen base card, both from
Keep a lookout for Beverley, Aug. 18th on Hochanda for the new stamps (and more! ).....I can guarantee you'll love them!!

Bee Crafty - Hochanda Samples.....

Morning everyone, bit late today with my post, so won't waffle on......we're actually moving stuff back into our new kitchen today after SIX weeks of living in 'limbo', so I'm a bit excited!
Anyway, just wanted to show a couple more cards I did as samples for the recent Hochanda shows for
Hope you managed to get some of the new Banksy XL stamps, they will come in very handy, I'm sure.
Two completely different styles for these......on this card I've heat embossed Hope in black & the balloon in red, then cut them out and adhered to 4 layers of white linen card.
Find Hope & balloon HERE ....and the sentiment HERE
All cardstock is from PAPERMILLDIRECT
This card started with a background made from Distress Stain, swiped across white cardstock.....I then stamped the Flower Riot and sentiment stamps with white embossing powder and heat embossed.
I added a bit of colour to the flowers, and inked through the brick inkable to give another layer to the background.
Then all I had to do was cut a white frame and mount onto a balck mat.
Find Flower Riot HERE
Sentiment HERE
and
Brick Wall Inkable HERE
Hope you like what I did with these fab stamps.....keep an eye out for more samples coming over the next few days.
Happy weekend

New Stamps from Bee Crafty.......

Morning everyone, Barbara here again with a card made with a new stamp from
These stamps will be unveiled on Hochanda on Tuesday 19th July, but thought you might fancy a sneaky peek..... they are HUUUUUGE! (this is a 7" square card)
The background is made with a selection of Ranger Alcohol Inks, which was matted onto white linen cardstock then black, from
I stamped the 'BALLOON GIRL' in Versamark, heat-embossed with black embossing powder then 'fussy-cut' it out.
Once the sentiment was in place, I simply mounted the image with foam pads.
These larger size stamps will be fab for scrapbooking, journalling or simply making large cards.
Well, that's it for now, I'll be back tomorrow with my Lavinia samples for the July challenge.
Catch you then,

All card stock was supplied by
I did the background for this card with Dylusions paint.....it's actually much more vivid in real life!
This card and the one below were made using the oak leaf stencil/mask and distress inks.
The masks are fabulous for either using on their own or mixing with various stamps, as I've done on these cards.
All stamps used are from the BEAUtanicals range HERE
I've just rec'd the new stamps which will be shown on Hochanda on 19th July, so guess what I'll be doing this week......if I can get into my craft room!

Chippenham Workshop samples

Hi everyone, we had another great day at Chippenham Craft Workshop on Saturday.......
This month I made a monolith/plaque as inspiration for the ladies. There were lots of butterflies, and lots of 'fussy-cutting', but they all managed so well. Checkout the post on Barbara Daines-Crafts,  Facebook, to see all the lovely creations.
This is my workshop sample......we did some cards too, but I'll show those later...

A close-up of the 'gem' detail.

There are over 60 butterflies on here....most of them were 'fussy-cut'....yawn! but I love the effect.
Hope you like my little plaque....please leave a comment if you've enjoyed looking.
Catch you soon with more samples from the workshop and my DT samples from the next Lavinia challenge which starts on 7th July.

Another Saturday, another Bee Crafty DT card

Morning all, thanks for popping over to see what I've been up to this week.
Saturday is my usual spot for BEE CRAFTY and this week I've gone back to a pretty little butterfly stamp that I've used quite a lot in the past..... I just love it's simplicity.
I stamped the butterfly with Versamark over a piece of card which had been coloured with Brusho's, then heat embossed in white.
A simple sentiment stamped onto black card and again heat-embossed was all I needed to finish this easy card.
The stamps used are:-
Butterfly from Winged Things - HERE
Sentiment from Hope & Faith Infinity - HERE
Thanks for looking today, hope you can pop back in a day or so for more Bee Crafty DT samples
Until then, have a great weekend.

More Alcohol Inks.......

Morning everyone, and a bit better start to the day than yesterday, I can see some sun....yay!
Anyway, just thought I'd show you a few more of the alcohol ink cards I made as samples for my latest Chippenham Workshop. I'm still loving the inks, and will be using them on a regular basis, now that I've bought more ;-)
All card bases and 'mats' are from PAPERMILLDIRECT, and the inked pieces are done on Yupo paper.
Love the colours on this one
This was also one of my samples for the BEE CRAFTY show on Hochanda, last week....I 'fussy-cut' that tree....yawn!
And another sample for Bee Crafty, using the tree stamp from the BEAUtanicals range, HERE.
The sentiments are from the 'Wordage' range on the Bee Crafty website.
Just stamped with Stazon, onto an alcohol ink background.
Hope you like them.

Saturday's Sure Do Come Around Quickly at Bee Crafty.....

Hi again, just a quickie today showing one of my DT cards for the Hochanda show yesterday with Bev of
Did you see all the fabulous new releases of leaf stamps, aren't they great?
I chose to use the oak leaf stamp for this card and first stamped both sizes of leaves onto gold mirri-card with Stazon. Then I fussy cut them out......not as much of a chore as I thought, LOL
I mounted 3 of the leaves in the corner, with silicone gel, then added a twine bow, onto a piece of black smooth cardstock from
Mirri-card is very hard to photograph.

In opposite corners I made some dots with a Versamark pen, then heat-embossed in gold.
Added one of my favourite sentiments, HERE
and I was almost done. All that remained was to mat onto more mirri-card, then onto a black base.
Voila! done ;-)

Hope you enjoyed the shows, I'll be showing you more of my DT work over the coming days.
Catch you soon, have a good weekend,
Barbara x

A Canvas for Bee Crafty

Hiya, happy Saturday......
This is another quick blog, I'm afraid, as this weekend is the Scarecrow Festival in our old village, and I have arranged the 'Craft Market' part. I'm selling my cards, as always, so we're hoping for a very busy weekend.
My inspiration for BEE CRAFTY this week is a little canvas.
I've used Dylusions for the background, then overstamped with 'Flower Distressed Border' find it HERE
I stamped the flower part on a separate sheet of card, a couple of times, fussy-cut, inked them in a contrasting colour then triple embossed them to bump up the shine.
I used another of my favourite background stamps in a couple of places, the Da Vinci Script....find it HERE
The background spots were made with a small piece of sequin waste, and the sentiment is another favourite of mine, which can be found HERE
A little bit of gold wax around the edges, some Rangers 'Stickles' and a piece of twine completes the canvas.
If you have found some inspiration from this project, it would be great if you could leave a comment, they are always appreciated.
Catch you soon,
Barbara x

Elegant Inspiration for Bee Crafty....

Morning all, just a very quick post as I'm on holiday this week, and we're heading off to the beach soon with the grandchildren.
I chose to do a very simple & elegant card this week only using black smooth card and gold mirri, gold embossing powder and BEE CRAFTY stamps (of course)

Black smooth card stock is from
I used a Versamark inkpad and fine gold embossing powder to emboss the images and sentiment.
Stamps used are :-
Large Wings - HERE
Small Feather - HERE
Sentiment - HERE

It's quite hard trying to photograph mirri-card

I love the black and gold together and think it looks very elegant. It would probably look just as nice on white card stock with maybe a coloured embossing powder.

Well, that's all for now, as I promised the family I wouldn't spend too long on my lappy this week.
It would be lovely if you could leave a comment, if you've found some inspiration from this card.
Back soon,
Barbara xx

Saturday, 4 June 2016

Hello everyone....how quickly do these weekends come around??
I'm a bit late with my blog today for BEE CRAFTY but hope it's been worth waiting for .......
I decided to make a little project for my craft room and started with a 4" mdf heart, which I covered with 3 shades of Dylusion paints..... Lemon Zest, Fresh Lime and Vibrant Turquoise ( HERE )
I then used some texture paste through the Honeycombe (3) Inkables (HERE)
Once it was completely dry, I started overstamping.
I used the following stamps to add a bit of interest to the background,
Style Wire Circle (HERE)
Da Vinci Script (HERE)
Butterflies Set 1 (HERE )
And the word LOVE from 2 different stamps.... Live, Laugh, Dream, (HERE) and Love Isn't Complicated (HERE
I stamped the butterflies directly onto the heart, then again on some inky card and cut them out.

Once the  butterflies had been adhered to the heart, I used some lemon Stickles (thanks Sam Green, you were right, I DID need it ) , and also did a bit of doodling with a white Sharpie pen.

A bit of raffia for a hanger and Voila!

If you like my little heart, it would be lovely if you could leave me a comment below.....they are always appreciated.
Catch you soon,
Barbara xx
